Lego Batman Gameplaying

My six and nine year old and myself are experienced Lego video game players in the Nintendo Wii platform. However, there were times the puzzles (mostly finding red bricks and minikits) in the game were taxing. Since I didn't want to guide the kids all the time, I needed the cheats to become invincible. The game was relatively new at the time I purchased it and there were no cheats or or complete walkthroughs available. Cheats to increase money showed up and it allowed the kids to buy new extras and character unlocks. By the time I was about 25% done with the game the cheat codes showed up. But even with the cheat codes, there were still many puzzles that could not be solved. There were even some levels I could not get through. Since there were no walkthroughs, I check out forums to get help. By the time the walkthrough was available (about 2 weeks after the game release date) the game was conquered but there were still many minikits to hunt in freeplay mode.

Below are some screenshots of the game.

Batman and Robin preparing to go into action.

There is plenty of jumping around in this game. Mainly, by you.

Mr. Freeze and the Scarecrow looking for a fight. Mr. Freeze's gun is annoying since it can pauses the gameplaying for several seconds. The Scarecrow, the Riddler, and other villians have special powers in the game that are pretty interesting. The Scarecrow can bypass security on certain doors and can spray scare gas which temporarily stuns enemies, making them scream and run around in circles.

The Joker with his meniacal grin.

Harley Quinn with the Joker. Did you know that this chick is a devote admirer of Joker but Joker nevers gives the affection back. The video game does have some historical tidbits in the batcave panel where you go to purchase extras and characters.

Lego Batman

Here are some images from Lego Batman the video game. I purchased the Lego Batman a few days after it was released this year. After conquering Lego Indiana Jones and loving it, I just couldn't wait.

Lego Star Wars

If you haven't purchased Lego Star Wars for your yourself, your kids, or for your family yet then what are you waiting for? This is a great game for the family. I wrote a blog in July 2007 with lots of detail on the game playing. There are things about this game that are hard - even for adults. But one way to overcome this is to enter cheats for invincibility. You need to find the invincibility brick first and there if you google cheats for Lego Star Wars, you will get directions to finding it in one of the levels. Youtube also has video for locating the invincibility brick. You will need to collect a million lego money to purchase the invincibility function. Once this is done, gameplaying will be a lot pleasant.

General Grievous

Here is a picture of the new Lego toy of the 18 inch General Grievous. You can see more of Grievous in Cartoon Network - New episodes can be found on Fridays at 9 PM (as of today). Check your local channel schedule. Older episodes can be found during the week. Anyway, it is great watching Grievous up to his old tricks in hunting down Jedi. He doesn't always succeed so I wonder why Count Dooku doesn't demote him to a Colonel?
